Cross the International Date Line losing one day which is recovered on the return flight. June 17, Sun. ARRIVE OSAKA/KANSAI AIRPORT AND ON TO KYOTO. On arrival and after entry procedures, transfer by bus to hotel in Kyoto. June 18, Mon. KYOTO – NARA - KYOTO. Full day sightseeing in Nara visiting Todaiji Temple (Great Buddha) and Nara Park. In Kyoto visit Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) and Fushimi Inari Shrine. (B L) June 19, Tue. KYOTO Free day. Optional tours are available. Tonight, special shabu shabu dinner. (B D) June 20, Wed. KYOTO - KANAZAWA. This morning, we travel by train to Kanazawa. On arrival visit Kenrokuen Garden, Nagamachi Samurai District where samurai and their families lived and Higashichaya Street, a historical entertainment area with tea houses where geisha performed. (B D) June 21, Thu. KANAZAWA – SHIRAKAWAGO -TAKAYAMA Today we travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Shirakawago, a village known for a unique architectural style called gassho-zukuri. (B L) June 22, Fri. TAKAYAMA. Today sightseeing begins with the morning market along the Miyagawa River; Hachiman Shrine where Yatai floats are displayed and “Kamisannomachi”, an area that has been preserved, some dating from the Edo perios (1600-1868) and still used as shops and eateries. (B D) June 23, Sat. TAKAYAMA – NAGOYA. Travel by train to Nagoya. On arrival we will visit the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry & Technology, as well as Nagoya Castle. (B L) June 24, Sun. NAGOYA – HAKONE. We will travel by train to the scenic hot springs resort of Hakone. Overnight in a ryokan (Japanese Inn). (B D) June 25, Mon. HAKONE - TOKYO. Today we will cruise on Lake Ashi, then ride an aerial cablecar to Mt. Komagatake, before traveling to Tokyo. On arrival, we will be treated to a special teppan yaki lunch. Afternoon sight-seeing includes Imperial Palace Plaza, Asakusa Temple and the Nakamise shoping arcade. (B L) June 26, Tue. TOKYO. Free day. Farewell dinner in the evening at the hotel. (B D) June 27, Wed. TOKYO – LOS ANGELES. Early afternoon transfer to the airport for our nonstop flight home. Recross the lnternational Date Line, arriving home the same day.
