2017 Yamato Deluxe Spring Tour to Japan

April 4, Tue.  LEAVE LOS ANGELES.         Depart Los Angeles right after midnight on April 3, nonstop to Tokyo/Haneda Airport.  En route, cross the International Date Line, arriving in Tokyo the next day.  

April 5, Wed.
  ARRIVE TOKYO AND CONTINUE TO YONAGO AND TO TAMATSUKURI ONSEN.  
Upon arrival and after entry procedures, we transfer to our domestic flight to Yonago.  After arrival, we will proceed to the Adachi Museum of Art.  Enjoy lunch and Japanese Garden at Yushien (Daikon Island).  Proceed to Tamatsukuri Spa and to a lovely Japanese inn for a relaxing evening and to enjoy the hot springs spa.  This ryokan gives a glimpse into a way of life that is both gracious, unhurried and supremely refreshing.       (L D)

April 6, Thu.  MATSUE - TAMATSUKURI ONSEN.
  This morning we will travel to Izumo Taisha, a national treasure, and is Japan’s tallest shrine.   Continue to Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo.  After lunch visit Matsue Castle, a feudal castle nicknamed the “black castle” and is one of the few remaining medieval castles in Japan.  After visiting Shijimi Clam Shop & Exhibition, return to Tamatsukuri Spa.   (B D)

April 7, Fri.  TAMATSUKURI ONSEN – KURASHIKI – OKAYAMA.   Today we will travel to Kurashiki,
a historic city located in western Okayama Prefecture, sitting on the Takahashi River, on the coast of the Inland Sea.  After visiting the Ohara Art Museum and the Kurashiki Historical Quarter, continue to Okayama.      (B D)        

April 8, Sat.  OKAYAMA – HIMEJI – KOBE.  Leaving Okayama, we continue to Himeji Castle, also known as White Heron Castle due to its elegant, white appearance and is widely considered Japan’s most spectacular castle for its imposing size and beauty and its well preserved complex castle grounds.  Enjoy lunch at Kokoen Japanese Garden.  Continue to Kobe.   (B L) 

April 9, Sun.   KOBE - KYOTO
.   This morning visit Kobe Center for Overseas Migration and Cultural Interaction, followed by Sannomiya Shopping Street.  Lunch in Kobe Chinatown.  Continue to Kyoto   (B L)

April 10, Mon.  KYOTO
.  Our sightseeing in Kyoto will include the Golden Pavilion and Nijo Castle. 
Afternoon visit to Nishiki Market.   (B D). 

April 11, Tue.  KYOTO
. Today is a free day to explore this culturally rich city on your own.    Suggestions will be given by your guide.   (B). 

April 12, Wed.  KYOTO - KASHIKOJIMA.  Leave this morning and arrive in Ise by noon.  Afternoon visit to the Ise Shrine.  This great shrine is built amid a dense forest of giant cryptomeria trees next to the Isuzu River in the Mie Prefecture.  Visit Okage Yokocho Street before departing for Kashikojima.    (B L)                                                             

April 13, Thu.  KASHIKOJIMA – TOBA – NAGOYA.
Today we journey to Kamado where we will visit the pearl diving ladies in their huts and watch them dive for oysters.  After lunch, we continue to Toba and the Mikimoto Pearl Farm. Continue to Nagoya.  (B L)

April 14, Fri.  NAGOYA – TOKYO.
  Our sightseeing in Nagoya will be to the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology. Continue to Tokyo by the bullet train.    (B L)

April 15, Sat.   TOKYO.   This morning our sightseeing will include the Meiji Shrine and Imperial Palace.Plaza,  After lunch, visit Asakusa Kannon Temple and Nakamise Shopping Arcade, leading up to the temple.  (B L)

April 16, Sun.     TOKYO.
    Full day free to explore this exciting city on your own.  This evening we will enjoy our “fare-well dinner” in the hotel.  (B D)                                                          

April 17, Mon.   HOMEWARD    BOUND.   Free morning for last minute sightseeing or shopping.
Afternoon transfer to Narita International Airport for our nonstop flight to Los Angeles, arriving home
