June 28, Fri.  LEAVE LOS ANGELES.   You will leave Los Angeles aboard a non stop flight to Tokyo/Narita, crossing the International Date Line losing one day.

 

June 29, Sat. ARRIVE TOKYO/NARITA.   On arrival and after entry procedures you will be transferred to your hotel in Tokyo.

 

June 30, Sun.     TOKYO.   You will enjoy your city tour of Tokyo visiting the Imperial Palace Plaza, Asakusa Kannon Temple and Nakamise shopping arcade.   Balance of the day free.   (B-L)

 

July 1, Mon.  TOKYO.   Full day at leisure.  There is so much to do and see in and around the Tokyo area.  You may explore on your own; visit the Edo-Tokyo Museum; or join a day tour.    (B)

 

July 2, Tue.   TOKYO – HAKONE.   Today you will drive through the countryside to Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station for, weather permitting, beautiful views and photo opportunities.  Then enjoy a scenic drive to Hakone, a hot springs resort.  A cruise of Lake Ashi or Lake Hakone, followed by a cable car ride up Mt. Komaga-take.   (B–D)

 

July 3, Wed.  HAKONE – KYOTO.  Today travel by train to Kyoto.  Afternoon sightseeing including Kinkakuji/Golden Pavilion, Sanjusangendo, and Heian Shrine .   (B)

 

July 4, Thu.     KYOTO.   Full day free to explore this culturally rich city on your own.  An optional excursion to nearby Nara will be available in the afternoon.  Enjoy a shab-shab dinner in the evening.   (B-D) 

 

July 5, Fri.     KYOTO  - HIROSHIMA.   This morning we will board our train to Hiroshima.  On arrival we will visit the Peace Memorial Park and the Memorial Museum which are somber reminders of the devastation caused by the atomic bomb.   (B-L)
  

July 6, Sat.   HIROSHIMA – MIYAJIMA – HIROSHIMA.  Leave this morning for Miyajima, one of the three beauty spots of Japan.  Return to Hiroshima around 3 p.m.   (B-L)

 

July 7, Sun.  HIROSHIMA.  All day free for independent activities and last-minute shopping and packing.   (B-D)

 

July 8, Mon.  HIROSHIMA - HANEDA – LOS ANGELES.   Transfer will be provided to the airport for your short flight to Tokyo/Haneda Airport.  You will then take the Airport Limousine to Narita International Airport for your non-stop flight back to Los Angeles.  You will cross the International Date Line, arriving home the same day.   (B)
