June 19, Sat. LEAVE LOS ANGELES. Our flight will cross the International Date Line, arriving into China the next day. June 20, Sun. ARRIVE GUANGZHOU. Upon our arrival in Guangzhou (Canton) and after entry procedures, our local guide will meet us and escort us to
our hotel. June 21, Mon. GUANGZHOU. Today we will visit Yuexiu Park, one of the most famous parks in Guangzhou. Then we visit Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, which is not only a large-scale theatre with modern acoustics, but also a landmark of Guangzhou. Continue to visit Chen Family Memorial Temple which is an important heritage site under protection by the country and the local Guangdong handicraft museum. (B) June 22, Tue. GUANGZHOU / GUILIN. After breakfast, we will be transferred to the airport for our flight to Guilin. (B) June 23, Wed. GUILIN. Enjoy a scenic cruise down the Li River, taking in the amazing scenery that has inspired many Chinese poets and painters over the centuries. After our return to Guilin, visit Elephant Trunk Hill, a fantastically shaped hill in the shape of an elephant extending its trunk into the river. Lunch is served on the cruise. (B, L) June 24, Thu. GUILIN / XIAN. Today we will be transferred to the airport for our flight to Xian. Upon arrival, we will be met and transferred to our hotel. Afterwards we will visit the well-preserved City Walls and then the majestic Big Wild Goose Pagoda. (B) June 25, Fri. XIAN. A full day excursion to the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang guarded by the famous Terracotta Army, 7000 life-size clay statues each individually crafted, complete with chariots and horses. In the afternoon, visit the Muslim Markets. Here we will be able to purchase all sorts of curios and artifacts. (B) June 26, Sat. XIAN / BEIJING. This morning we will be transferred to the airport for our flight to Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China.
Upon arrival in Beijing, we will visit Tiananmen Square, which is the largest square in the world. Next continue to the magnificent Forbidden City, home to emperors for over 500-years. In the late afternoon we will visit the splendor of the Summer Palace, built as a royal garden for the Qing Dynasty Emperors. (B) June 27, Sun. BEIJING. A full-day tour will take us to the grandeur of the Great Wall, built more than 2000 years ago to protect China from northern invaders. It is one of the most impressive structures built by man. En route back to Beijing we will visit the sacred Ming Tombs, where 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty are buried. (B, L) June 28, Mon. BEIJING. Free day. (B) June 29, Tue. HOMEWARD BOUND.
